Here is our version of the electronics industry standard 19″ equipment rack. First designed to house telephone switching modules this concept has firmly established itself even in countries where everything else is Metric.
Electronic equipment cases were made to be 19″ wide with specific heights measured in IU (International Units) of 1 and3/4″. Thus 2IU is 3.5 inches etc. The fixing hole positions were also fixed internationally, however when the high end audio market started to use this case format the Japanese companies, like Panasonic put the fixing holes where they thought that they looked best and broke the standard. thus you could not bolt any of their equipment into an industry standard rack with all four bolts and usually just the top two were/are used. They also broke convention with case heights, ie they chose their own case heights so their units did/do not fit flush with standard IU height units.
Geneero solves this problem. The running vertical channels of Geneero enables units of different heights to be mounted together with no gaps between units. this looks better and saves rack space. Also the DU channel takes our shelf brackets so that a work platform can aalso be fixed to the front of the rack. Not possible with any other rack system.
The basic frame uses the Double Upright (DU) profile which can accept 19″ chassis with any hole fixing. Unique in this design is the ability to support shelving from the front of the rack – not availble elsewhere.
